The Tiger’s genetic Tooth a story about humans and clones In a small medieval town in the Netherlands a biologist plants to develop a new dental remedy. The settings to design a genetic drug so that a new tooth can grow out of the tiger’s jaw are however pretty bad. Scientific curiosity and the firm conviction that it can be done overcome the initial difficulties. Despite strict planning the course of the events zigzags like the fruit fly drosophila and leads to unexpected situations. The laboratory of his grandfather, an animal facility at a Dutch university, a modern state of the art research institute and restricted areas are the locations were the experiments are performed. The tools of biotechnology are used to build a Trojan virus in whose interior the new genetic drug is hidden. The tiger hisses behind the bars when a veterinarian who took over the experiments wants to apply the medicine. Will it be possible to artificially stimulate dental growth; does scientific thinking begin after it all happened? The narrative not only tells when and where genes and clones are manipulated, the story is also about Sonja’s little kitten and the French guy Bernard who falls in love with Li and tries to get tons of food through the US customs. ... link (no comments) ... comment |
